Creative Writing Resources

Here is a list of resources that I use when working on a new story or novel.  I will add to list as I find useful more resources!  I hope they are as useful to you as they are to me!

Behind The Name is a name generator that I use all the time when picking names for characters.  You can choose categories that are helpful when trying to find a name within a certain culture or realm, such as fantasy.  There are a lot of websites like this one, but this is the one that I use the most often because of the fact that it’s easy to navigate.

Written?  Kitten! is a wonderful resource for motivation.  You have a couple options of animals in the drop down menu as well.  The goal of this website is that you get a picture of a kitten (or whatever animal you choose) when you write a certain amount of words.  The default is set to 100 words, so whatever you’re writing, if you get to 100 words, the photo will pop up and you’ll feel as though you accomplished something.  It’s an excellent motivator and I highly recommend it, whether you’re using it for fun or to get a paper done.
